# Cost Saving & ROI Insights

> Organization-wide tool licensing costs, inactive seat savings, and AI coding tool ROI.

The **Cost Saving & ROI Insights** sub-tab of Organization Summary surfaces software licensing spend across all connected tools, highlights unused/inactive seats as savings opportunities, and quantifies the return on investment (ROI) delivered by AI coding tools specifically.

## Summary cards

| Card | Description |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Total Licensed Seats | Total number of paid seats across all connected tools |
| Total Cost (Monthly) | Combined monthly license cost across all tools |
| Total Cost (Annual) | Combined annualized license cost across all tools |
| Inactive Seats | Total seats identified as unused/inactive across all tools |
| Potential Savings (Monthly) | Total monthly savings possible if inactive seats were removed |
| Potential Savings (Annual) | Total annual savings possible if inactive seats were removed |

## Cost By Tool

A breakdown of licensing cost, grouped by tool category (e.g. **Repository Tools**, **AI Coding Tools**, **Work Management Tools**, **Communication Tools**), with a tool count shown per category (e.g. *AI Coding Tools · 3 tools*).

Each tool within a category gets its own card, tagged with its category (e.g. **GitHub** – *Repository*, **Claude Code** – *AI Coding*), split into two parts:

**License Cost**

| Metric | Description |
| ------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Total Seats | Number of licensed seats for that tool |
| Cost / Seat / Month | Per-seat monthly license price |
| Monthly Cost | Total monthly cost for that tool (Total Seats × Cost/Seat/Month) |
| Annual Cost | Total annualized cost for that tool |

**Savings Opportunity**

| Metric | Description |
| ------------------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------- |
| Inactive Seats | Number of seats for that tool identified as unused |
| Monthly Saving Potential | Monthly savings possible by reclaiming those inactive seats |
| Annual Saving Potential | Annual savings possible by reclaiming those inactive seats |

Tools observed on this page include GitHub, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Jira, Slack, and Microsoft Teams — grouped under their respective categories as above.

## AI Coding Tools ROI

Below the Cost By Tool breakdown, each AI coding tool gets a dedicated ROI card:

| Metric | Description |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Time Saved / mo | Estimated developer hours saved per month from using the tool |
| Value Created / mo | Dollar value assigned to that time saved |
| Tool Cost / mo | Monthly cost of the tool |
| Net Value / mo | Value Created minus Tool Cost |
| ROI | Return on investment multiple (Value Created ÷ Tool Cost) |

Tools observed with ROI cards include **Cursor AI** and **GitHub Copilot**.
